holycrap, the year 2014 is almost over once again. even after such a long hiatus from blogging here, i find myself unable to not leave a post once more.
8/14 of the resolutions in 2014 are done. Would very much like to carry some forward but some resolutions have become unrealistic now, if not close to impossible. Here was what I resolved back in 2013 for this year 2014 if you are interested.
2014 has been good. I've finally achieved a resolution that I have had for god knows when. I've finally met the girl of my dreams and am very happily attached at the moment to my dear, Yun. I can't ask anymore from that. Life is still carrying on as per normal as everyone else moves on ahead in their life.
I've still kept pretty close ties with my two closest cliques, the bball and soccer clique. Recently even had my first ever overseas trip with the soccer clique. Travelled with the family to Bangkok as well which was something we haven't done in years.
Academic wise, haven't done well for my first semester after exchange but I'm slowly pulling myself back together module by module. Will work harder for my last semester but I'll never regret putting off some studying to have fun.
1) Have a full family trip that includes all four of us.
2) Graduate with second upper. (This means this sem I'll need to get 4.63 (Y))
3) Get a job I like and would work hard for
4) Plan ahead for everything to come.
5) Start saving up for real, it's time to pay the debts once I get my pay
6) Treat yun the best I can possibly treat her w/o overdoing it :D
7) Be realistic about stuff and to not feel envious of others
8) Get back my fitness and have more discipline. (IPPT SILVER)
9) Borrow the books that I've yet to read from the library and start
10) Remember to enjoy life once in awhile
11) Work hard, play hard. But work hard first
12) Start up my ideas for real and stop bumming and making excuses
13) Keep a healthy balance in my relationships w friends and family
14) GRAD TRIP!!!!!
15) To be healthy and happy.
15 resolutions for 2015. May this year be good to us all.

“Ghosts? Can you believe that people still buy into that?
After the human race has advanced so far that we have reached Mars and explored
the universe, you still believe in ghosts? After we’ve managed to communicate
in split seconds across the globe and travelled faster than the speed of sound,
you still believe in ghosts? Believe in science, believe in nature, question
yourself, ask for proof, search for the truth.”
My dad looked at me incredulously; he couldn’t believe that
people still bought into the supernatural crap.
“People are ignorant, they get scared at the unknown, and
they prey on each other’s fears. The only thing to fear in this world isn’t ghosts;
it’s the people yet to become them. Humans are the scariest things you’ll ever
meet.”
My mind wandered to a few weeks back when Yun and I made a
trip down on a Friday evening to the Science Centre for stargazing.
How many people can say they’ve seen the planet Saturn with
their own eyes? I have.
Technology has allowed me to view a planet millions of miles
away from myself. And I have the audacity to believe in ghosts?
That was the last time I believed in their existence. Don’t
get me wrong, I am not unafraid. The humans are scarier.
Looking back, at the moment I looked into the telescope
lens, I suddenly felt how small I was in this big world. My existence felt as
insignificant as an ant in a plantation full of trees. But that didn’t mean
that I cannot be happy or enjoy everything I want, it doesn’t hamper my
ambition or restrict my dreams and it certainly didn’t make me sad. I have a
life of my own that doesn’t depend on the size of the plantation I live in. I
am myself; I am free to be who I want to be, to live how I want to live.
I am small to the world but I am big to myself.

The moon was full and it hung in the night skies like an orb. Autumn was half past and the celebrations had officially begun. The wind was gentle and the leaves rustled overhead.
We strolled leisurely down the river walk, hands knotted tightly. The city lights are ablaze in the background and the water beams up the shimmering rays. We pause and look across the river, taking a short break to enjoy the moment. Our paper lanterns illuminate the faint darkness.
I see her smile. She looks so beautiful and I feel like the luckiest guy on earth. I often forget how beautiful she actually is, it felt like a dream almost. May have been the moonshine or the faint lights in the water, I think I may have fallen in love with her all over again.

It was just a misunderstanding but from a single conversation he had seen the true form of his otherwise gentle friend.
This time round, you play rank. And I can't say anything since mine falls below yours. Next time, there'll be no rank when we meet as civilians.
Good wake up call to the harsh realities of life in all environments be it studying or working.
