#laterpost

As I am typing this I am 39,000 feet above sea level and cruising comfortably in the sky. Not quite comfortably I suppose but it feels much better than being in a squeezy, jerky bus.

My Europe adventure has finally come to an end. As to how I feel about it, I don’t quite know it myself. I think I have probably changed a little, my world is now a little wider, my vision a little clearer.

You know they say that in life, we do not count the number of breaths we take but rather that number of times we have our breath taken away. On my last backpacking trip to London, on the very last day of my vacation, I took a long, long walk down from the central to the palace.

The path was beautiful and the sky was a clear, brilliant shade of blue. But I couldn’t concentrate on what the walking tour guide was saying. Each time I blinked I saw myself in a different zone, in a different country, doing a different thing.

I see Munich’s zoo, one of most serene place. I blink.

I see the port of Hamburg. I blink.

I see the bar in Frankfurt, having a cold one with my new friend. I blink.

Switzerland with Snowie. Seeing the majestic Swiss Alps for the first time.

Smoking weed exploring the red light district in Amsterdam. Shrooms are awesome.

Copenhagen and it’s city centre. Nicole tells us more about herself.

London meeting Harn. Catching Hardwell and then walking all the way back.

Gothenburg and it’s magical Christmas themepark, Liseberg. I finally understood why Christmas was such a big deal in Europe.

Milan’s gigantic church.  And Prada. The haunted hostel.

The Eifffel tower is more beautiful than I could ever imagine. Best trip combination ever.

Kiruna, playing in the snow with Jingqiu, Jenzi and Snowie. I haven’t laughed so much in awhile. Camera loss, the “northern lights” and husky sledding.

Spain, drinking, tapas, football stadiums. 4 guys, quadruple the fun.

Fat boy and Edinburgh. The movie nights. Amazing bunch of strangers becoming good friends.

Manchester and my favourite football team and the disappointing match.

Oxford and it’s quiet, old buildings. May’s highly recommended destination.

London once more with a musical and the change of guards parade.

Time flies so fast, I am almost back to Singapore.

If I have indeed passed all my modules, it would have been nothing short of a mini miracle considering how badly I think I did for my last paper. 26 major cities visited in slightly more than a month.

I guess I am ready to return to routine Singapore. I will definitely miss Europe but with all the “come back soon”s I have been hearing its heartening to know people are actually waiting for me back in Singapore. It’s hard to imagine staying abroad for a long time, homecoming is pretty bittersweet.

Such as my Instagram user says, Rome is finally back in Singapore.
