Greetings peeps! As usual, this year I will start off my new new year's resolutions and reflect on the past year.
This year's countdown I spent far far away from the sunny island, together with my best army buddy brandon the fat boy and many newly made friends. Edinburgh decided to celebrate it's new year just like everywhere else in the world, with fireworks! Except I received all my new year greetings 8 hours before any bright lights actually lit up the skyline. (that's right I am 8 hours behind all you Singaporeans!) Nonetheless, it was indeed a sight to behold! The fireworks were beautiful, as all fireworks are.
Incase you're interested, this was what I resolved to do this year back in 2013. Out of these, I only achieved 8 of them. Which 8, up to me to know, to you to find out.
2013 has been kind, starting my second term in school, struggling like a dog studying, kissing hall goodbye, the formation of 49's bitch clique, completing the worst job attachment ever, meeting yun, going for an awesome exchange, travelling 25 major cities in Europe, making new and awesome friends and keeping close to the old ones. i like to think that i've grown a little wiser this year, finally learning to find a healthy balance.
This year 2014, I will resolve to:
1) Study harder and pull back my abysmal GPA back to a second-upper.
2) Cut down on my vulgarities. (I seriously don't know for how long has this been on my un-achievable list)
3) Spend more on non-material stuff but on experiences instead.
4) Start reading all the books that I want to read! Don Quixote, Anne Frank Diaries etc
5) Train and get IPPT gold before in-camp training in July
6) Attend a camp as a GL FINALLY and do awesome shitzxc
7) Plan for the future, get a workable business idea and actually work on it/towards achieving it
8) Keep in contact with all the new people that I've met in 2013 (the ones who are worth it!)
9) Stop buying useless stuff.
10) Get attached. It's about time already. DAMNIT.
11) Give my family priority over everyone else. Because ohana means family.
12) Save more $$$$. I am officially eating grass after this expensive exchange
13) Pursue my interests in music and writing actively
14) To follow all the principles I believe in and to be myself for who I am.
14 rather fickle resolutions. I don't care. As I am typing this I am slightly tipsy from the beer in Edinburgh (which is so good btw) and I've got a feeling 2014 is going to be an awesome year ahead for myself and everyone else.
